The Australian Literacy & Numeracy Foundation Ambassador Faustina Agolley visits remote Australian communities to see how ALNF is helping to close the Indigenous literacy gap.
Sadly, only 1 in 5 kids in remote Indigenous communities are able to read and write at the minimum standard and this is a statistic that ALNF is fighting to change.
The Wall of Hands Indigenous literacy appeal (www.wallofhands.com.au) raises much needed funds for ALNF to deliver life-changing literacy programs.
This year's goal is to raise $300,000 to allow us to continue to deliver our programs for children in the remote communities of Tennant Creek, Mungkarta, Elliott and introduce Ali-Curung as a new community.
With a collective effort we can absolutely make a difference. Please go to www.wallofhands.com.au to make a donation, spread the word and join the movement.
Show you care and raise your hand for Indigenous kids! Remember- many hands make literacy work!
The ALNF would like to thank, Papulu Apparr-Kari Language Centre, Barkly College, Mungkarta School, Elliot School, Barkly Education office of the NT department of Education and Training, School of Education, The University of Western Sydney and Film Maker David Doyle.
