She founded this organization to advocate for second chances. Her son was sentenced to Life after rejecting a 5-year plea deal by prosecutors in Miami-Dade County in Florida. He has now served nearly 23 years as of August 2024. In Florida a Life sentence is a death sentence because their is no probation for a Life felony conviction.
