This weeks Episode: Shainblum Redux

I had set out to try and capture a version of the amazing shot Michael Shainblum had taken while we were together on this same beach back in Sept 2023, so when I managed to get something similar I was happy of course, the next challenge was to edit it, and for this, I took a similar approach or an approach that I believed Michael would have taken while editing his shot. The first obstacle was that I was shooting at 200m and he was shooting at 400mm, so a crop would be needed to bring the image more in Line. I could have shot with my 160-600 but given that I had my 70-200 I decided to use what I had, more of a challenge I know. Next, it was to play with the highlights and shadows which didn't need much work to be fair as I had the exposure time at its limits due to the harsh light. Once all of my standard edits were done it was now time to introduce the radial filter to bring more attention to the wave and let the background fade off.
