Yes, that GTA. The one from 1997. The one where everything is viewed from above like you’re some kind of crime-obsessed satellite. The one that looks like Google Maps… if Google Maps encouraged reckless driving, questionable morals, and the occasional flamethrower.
In this longplay series, I’ll be experiencing GTA 1 completely blind, no nostalgia, no childhood memories, just pure confusion as I try to figure out how people survived gaming before minimaps, GPS routes, and, you know… camera angles that make sense.
Expect:
Lots of trial and error (mostly error)
Me getting lost in cities that look like pixel soup
Questioning 90s game design decisions
And slowly (hopefully) figuring out how this all led to the massive GTA series we know today
My voice is included, so you can either relax, laugh at my struggles, or both.
Let’s go back to where it all began… and see if I can survive the chaos of 1997.
