The journey begins with "I Was Not Magnificent," a track that stems from one of the most intimate and difficult experiences the band has faced. Written during a time when bassist Ben Walsh was undergoing the physical and emotional challenges of living with Chronic Kidney Disease, the song speaks to the healing power of music in the darkest of times. For Ben, music became a lifeline during the hours spent in dialysis treatments, when his body seemed to betray him. The song’s message is clear: in moments of struggle, when everything else feels uncertain, music can be a force greater than ourselves, providing both comfort and strength. The title, *I Was Not Magnificent*, is a raw acknowledgment of vulnerability—of realising that, sometimes, in the face of hardship, we are not our strongest selves.
