ANTONOV AN-225 MRIYA At RAF Brize Norton. World's Biggest Aircraft!

Hi all, well what a week I've had so far. Upon hearing on the weekend that the worl'ds biggest plane was heading to the UK I could not say no to a visit, cancelling all other plans, we headed for this. It was originally scheduled to arrive on Tuesday 28th, however got postponed, we had got half way and turned back home. Then more rumours came about its arrival the following day, the 29th. We then made the journey again, arriving at 1pm and literally staying for over 24 hours! Yes, over a day (We slept in our car) Sadly the AN225 was late departing and arrived in darkness, and on Runway 07 partly due to wingspan and where it was vacating after landing, but also there was a real safety risk with so many people at the end of RWY 25 it was dangerous. Either way it looked beautiful, and I just could not believe my eyes that I was actually looking at this BEAST of an aircraft.

The following morning, rumours came in of a 16:00 departure, so we stayed all day and waited for it. I filmed a few other military bits as well including A330 Tankers, C-17's, C130 Hercules etc, and then of course the AN225. I apologise as the fence obstructs some of the views, there was very little I could do, I had elevated myself and my tripod as high as I could go - We didn't bring a stepladder, so please accept my apologies for that. I tried my absolute best to capture this. It was well worth seeing it, in my opinion one of the most amazing aircraft i have ever had the pleasure of seeing and filming.

As I mentioned, I will have a compilation of spotting at RAF Brize Norton to come, including an AN124, C-130's, C-17's, a few A400's and more! Very pleased to of done my first RAF base spotting video, something I will be doing more of in the future, hopefully including Mildenhall and Lakenheath!
