Director Martin Vogg and his team visited numerous historical sites to delve into the centuries-long close relationship between modern-day Slovenia and the Austrian monarchy.

Highlights include the stud farm in Lipica and the impressive Postojna Cave, both closely tied to the Austrian imperial family. The film also visits cities like Novo Mesto, founded by Rudolf IV, and Celje and Ptuj.

On the Adriatic coast, the documentary explores the Venetian past of towns like Piran and Koper, focusing on places such as Trieste and Miramare, which were Habsburg favorites. The Grand Palace Hotel in Portorož offers a glimpse into the Austro-Hungarian era, where visitors can follow in the footsteps of Archduke Franz Ferdinand.

Similarly, the Grand Hotel in Rogaška Slatina, where Franz Liszt once performed, represents the many spa hotels built in Slovenia during the 19th century. In Triglav National Park, the film explores sites from the Napoleonic Wars and the Isonzo Front of World War I, as well as the symbolic significance of Mount Triglav for Slovenian national identity.
