This video shows the progress Grace has made in the 6 months following her SDR operation, performed by Dr. Park at St. Louis Children's Hospital, MO, USA.
Grace Windram has Spastic Diplegia Cerebral Palsy, with a (pre-SDR) severity rating at the more severe end of 4 (out of a maximum 5) on the GMFCS scale, used to measure motor function. She underwent Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy in January 2012, exactly 6 months before her 6th birthday. She had a second operation 3 weeks later (on Valentine's Day) to lengthen the tendons in her hamstrings and heelcords. Over the last 6 months, Grace has worked extremely hard with daily physiotherapy sessions at home, school and through intensive courses at the Footsteps Centre in Oxford.
The post-op footage was taken few days after her 6 birthday.
