Since assuming office in January, the Trump Administration has taken unprecedented actions involving federal agencies. He has asserted presidential power over the functioning of independent agencies, taken steps to dismantle certain agencies in their entirety, fired agency officials despite laws forbidding such terminations without cause--and more.
Penn Program on Regulation organized an online panel discussion exploring what such developments mean for the future of the U.S. administrative state. The discussion, moderated by PPR Affiliate Neysun Mahboubi as part of the Law & Governance series that he organizes, features a group of leading administrative and regulatory law experts: Cary Coglianese (Penn), Susan Dudley (GW), Gillian Metzger (Columbia), Richard Revesz (NYU), and Christopher Walker (Michigan).
