In the latest development, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) reportedly recovered a lathi with suspicious stains, bone fragments, ashes, and a steel bracelet from the terrace of the Krishnalanka Police Station. The recovered items have been seized in the presence of a judicial officer and sent to a forensic laboratory for scientific examination. According to the SIT, these materials are suspected to be connected to Sai Krishna, who allegedly died while in police custody. The same claim has also been mentioned in the custody petition filed before the court against Circle Inspector (CI) Nagaraju. The discovery has raised several unanswered questions. If the body was allegedly disposed of elsewhere, why were the bone fragments and ashes found on the police station terrace? Why were they kept there? Who do the stains on the recovered lathi belong to? To find answers, forensic experts and the Clues Team are conducting a detailed examination of the police station, collecting samples from the lockup rooms and other locations. Investigators believe that DNA testing will play a crucial role in establishing whether the recovered bone fragments and ashes belong to Sai Krishna. Subject to the court's permission, DNA samples from Sai Krishna's mother, Vijayalakshmi, are expected to be collected for comparison. The forensic findings could become a key piece of evidence in determining what happened after his alleged custodial death. Meanwhile, the SIT has also sought permission from the High Court to question the main accused, CI Nagaraju, in Vijayawada instead of Rajamahendravaram, where he is currently lodged in jail. On the other hand, Nagaraju has denied all allegations. In an email submitted to the court through jail authorities, he claimed that he is innocent and alleged that the SIT is attempting to falsely implicate him and pressure him into making a confession. He has requested that any further questioning be conducted at a neutral location and in the presence of his lawyers, while also seeking protection from any alleged ill-treatment during the investigation.
