Yohei Sato, conductor
Mr. Sato, featured in Conducting Music Today (Berklee Press, 2020) alongside John Williams and JoAnn Falletta, is an internationally active conductor who has led performances at prestigious venues such as the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., Carnegie Hall in New York City, and Boston Symphony Hall, and in countries including England, France, the Netherlands, Australia, Canada, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Albania, the Czech Republic, and China. He debuted with the Quincy Symphony Orchestra and has held key roles with Chorus Boston, Boston Civic Symphony, and the Boston Chamber Orchestra, which he founded in 2007. Sato also established the Youth & Muse Festival and served as music director of the Video Game Orchestra, appearing at events like Anime Boston and PAX East. His collaborations include renowned artists such as Sergey Antonov and Mickey Katz, and his notable conducting highlights include a charity concert with the Prague Chamber Orchestra and a Bartók concerto performance in Albania. He holds degrees in oboe performance and orchestral conducting from the Boston Conservatory.
