UP Conversion Case: Gym Trainer, Father Arrested Over Alleged ‘Nikah Trap’ & Forced Conversion

According to the complaint, the accused woman allegedly developed a relationship with the victim while working as his physiotherapist and gym trainer before pressuring him to convert to Islam.

The complainant has alleged that the victim was taken to Delhi, where a nikah was conducted using forged documents. Police have registered a case against nine individuals, including a maulvi, under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Act.

Investigators claim the case may involve emotional manipulation, blackmail and financial extortion. While two accused have been arrested, police say efforts are underway to trace the remaining suspects. The case has also triggered strong reactions from Hindu organisations demanding strict action.
