Описание: Adenomyomatosis is a benign (non-cancerous) condition that affects the gallbladder. It is characterized by the thickening of the gallbladder wall and the formation of small cystic spaces or pouches known as Rokitansky-Aschoff sinuses. These changes can lead to the appearance of tiny gland-like structures within the gallbladder wall.

Causes and Risk Factors:
*Unknown Exact Cause:* The exact cause of adenomyomatosis is not well understood, but it is thought to be related to chronic inflammation or abnormal gallbladder motility.
*Age and Gender:* It is more commonly seen in adults, especially those over the age of 50, and it tends to be more prevalent in women.

Symptoms:
Many people with adenomyomatosis do not experience symptoms and it is often discovered incidentally during imaging studies for other conditions. However, when symptoms do occur, they may include:
Right upper abdominal pain
Nausea or vomiting
Symptoms similar to gallbladder disease, such as discomfort after eating fatty foods

Diagnosis:
*Imaging Studies:* Ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), or computed tomography (CT) scans can help in diagnosing adenomyomatosis by revealing the characteristic thickened gallbladder wall and cystic spaces.
*Cholecystography:* This is an X-ray examination of the gallbladder after the administration of a contrast medium, which may help in identifying adenomyomatosis.

Treatment:
*Asymptomatic Cases:* No treatment is usually required for asymptomatic cases. Regular monitoring may be recommended.
*Symptomatic Cases:* If symptoms are present and interfere with daily life, cholecystectomy (surgical removal of the gallbladder) may be considered.

Adenomyomatosis is generally a benign condition, but in rare cases, it can be associated with gallstones or other gallbladder diseases.
