Edison's Miracle: The History of the Phonograph

Описание: With trombonist and recording artist Bob Ferrel and recording engineer, Michael Devecka. (This is a recording of Plainfield Public Library's live event of 1/14/2023). A live wax cylinder recording session with trombones and bugle, and a discussion of early audio recording techniques, with a demonstration of authentic equipment and early recordings.

Our presenters were Mr Bob Ferrel and Mr Michael Devecka.
Trombonist Bob Ferrel played worldwide with the Duke Ellington Orchestra (Guests included Ella Fizgerald, Sarah Vaughn & Nancy Wilson); also with Southside Johnny & the Jukes whose guests included Both Bruce Springsteen and Bon Jovi; Bob has also worked on MTV shows and the movie “Adventures in Baby Sitting.

Michael Devecka is a recording engineer with many years experience of working with acoustic recording technology, including demonstrations with the Thomas Edison National Historical Site (with Mr Ferrel and others). Mr Devecka is also the organizer of the regular Mechanical Music Extravaganza, which regularly brings together collectors and enthusiasts of early recordings and recording equipment.
