Описание: On a recent visit to Clarksdale, Mississippi I sat down with my Royall resonator with the Sunflower River behind me and played a version of John Fahey’s “Sunflower River Blues.” John’s music was hugely influential to me in the early 1970s, and I’ve loved this tune since first hearing it on his Takoma “Death Chants, Breakdowns, and Military Waltzes” lp. Guitarists will notice that I’m playing the piece in Open D tuning, instead of Open C where John played it. Open D sits beautifully on this resonator, so it’s easier to change the fingering a little than re-tune. It was a nice, sunny day for picking outdoors, and there’s something about how the Sunflower lazily winds through Clarksdale that gets to me.
