Raised in Boston by Panamanian and Jamaican parents, La Gata shares how her multicultural upbringing shaped her perspective on the genre. From dancing to early Reggaeton as a child to launching her “Perreo 101” tour and podcast, she discusses how Panama played a foundational role in the development of Reggaeton, and how Puerto Rico expanded and globalized the sound.
