First of all, the definition of a Japanese role-playing game (JRPG in short) are vague. It might simply be a game that's created and published in Japan. To other people, though, it's a specific kind of game sub-genre whose design and look is different from other role-playing games ( like Western RPGs).
In this video, JRPGs are understood as the second definition. As in RPGs that "looks Japanese". The characters should look like anime ones, colorful visual, great emphasis on storyline.
