In this video, I share a concept called Priming using "Positive Test Strategy". This is from Robert Cialdini's book - Pre-suasion. Our brain is a pattern matching machine and usually, it searches for patterns (of behaviors) that match a particular kind of frame that you are looking for and generally not look at the absence of the pattern. This makes it easier for people to create nudges, using choice architecture (as detailed in the book - Nudge by Richard Thaler and Class Sunstein) and get you to decide and act on something that may or may not be your personal choice.
Nudges and psychological priming is everywhere and all around us. Also, it is cognitively demanding to become aware of such a nudge or priming effects. So, if you are about to make an important decision, it will always help if you stopped yourself before committing to your decision, to think if you were primed or nudged to your decision - chances are that you were. So, now deliberately think through the choices that you have and decide on what you truly want.
