A look at Glossop town hall clock on the morning of Monday 12th April 2021.
The town hall and clock were completed in 1842 and the clock mechanism and bell supplied by Lomas of Sheffield. In 1896, this was replaced by a new mechanism and cupola and weather vane added. The clock was refurbished in 2019 by Smith of Derby.
In this video we hear the clock chiming 9:00am but unfortunately, I was a little late focusing my camera so we only here five of the strikes but this gives you an idea of what the clock sounds like.
