Madhyamaheshwar Temple, also known as second Kedar among the Panch Kedars of Uttarakhand is a highly revered temple in the region. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva.. Madhyamaheshwar Temple is an unseen beauty in the Himalayas, as the temple is located in the picturesque location in the Himalayas. One has to trek a distance of about 16 km to reach the temple. The trek is a part of Kedarnath wildlife sanctuary, thus offers beautiful laid out trail and mesmerizing sceneries.
The icing on the cake is the beautiful sight of the reflection of Himalayan Chaukhmaba peaks in the lake at sunrise, which is located 2 km above Madhyamaheshwar. The scene is so beautiful that one would feel that one has entered a dream. The breathtaking sunrise at Budhamaheshwar will give you memories for lifetime.

This trek is combination of downhill, medium level uphill and steep uphill terrain. There are many villages on the way where you can rest, eat, drink and have a morale boosting conversation with the locals. All mobile networks work upto Gaundar (first pit stop village) and post that only Jio will be available in few nooks and corners of the places. There is a forest patch in the journey which is mostly safe as told by the locals but it is advisable to proceed during the light hours. There are plenty of mountain water tapholes on the way to keep you hydrated. The best time to travel post-monsoon season (September – October) and in spring and summer seasons (March – June).
