Today, we're going to review part number 8-201-5UC3. This is the Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly for 5,200-pound axles with a 6 on 5-1/2 inch bolt pattern. Now, this trailer hub and drum assembly will fit on axles that use electric or hydraulic brakes. It includes all the parts showing here, the bearings, the bearing races, which are already pre-installed on the front and the back of the hub assembly, the grease seal, the grease cap, and the lug nuts. Again, this application will fit 5,200-pound axles that'll have spindles that require a 2-1/8 inch inside diameter or 2-1/4 inch inside diameter grease seal, and again, they can be used on axles that have electric or hydraulic brakes. The drum dimension on this would be 12-inch diameter, which is side to side this way, and a 2-inch wide measurement, which is the width right here of the brake drum. Just to show you how that's measured, the diameter will be inside the inside, so that's 12 inches, and the width will be right at 2 inches. Again, the brakes that this will fit over, the brake assembly will normally be listed as a 12 x 2 inch brake assembly, so that's what this drum would fit over.

Again, the bolt pattern on the front, you can see here, is a 6-lug 5-1/2 inch measurement. The wheel studs right here are 1/2 inch diameter. The weight capacity on this one hub and drum assembly is 2,600 pounds, so when you use this on one side and another one on the other side on the axle, that'll give you your 5,200-pound maximum weight capacity. Now, the bearings that are included is this inner bearing, the larger one, which is part number 25580, and again, here's the pre-installed bearing race, so this inner bearing would go right in here. Then you need to seal it with this grease seal. This is a double-width grease seal, so you just put it in there and then tap it into place so that it'll hold everything in. Then the smaller bearing is the outer bearing.

It's part number LM67048. Again, here's the pre-installed outer bearing race. That would just go right in there. Once that slides over, your spindle will come through, and you put your washer and your nut on there. Then everything is tightened down.

You take your grease cap, tap that right in to cover everything. Then it also comes with the six half-inch lug nuts that would be used once everything's all installed. You're going to put your wheels and tires back onto the studs, and you lock the wheels and tires down with these half-inch lug nuts.
