Willem Andriessen (Haarlem, October 25, 1887 - Amsterdam, March 29, 1964): Dutch pianist, composer and conductor.
Eldest son of organist, composer, and choirmaster Nico Andriessen (1845-1913), brother of composer Hendrik Andriessen (1892-1981) and sculptor Mari Andriessen (1897-1979). Uncle of the famous Dutch composer Louis Andriessen (1939-2021).
1903-1906: Attended the Amsterdam Conservatory, studied with Jean-Baptiste de Pauw (piano) and Bernhard Zweers (composition).
1908: Awarded Prix d'Excellence, including his own piano concerto in D flat. 1910-1917: Principal piano professor at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague
1923-1937: Principal piano professor at the Conservatory of Amsterdam
1937-1952: Director of the Conservatory of Amsterdam
