From google: The original Kronk Gym was established by trainer Emanuel Steward in 1971 in the basement of the John Cronk Recreation Center in Detroit, a facility that served as a community hub for decades. Renowned for fostering an aggressive, knockout-focused "Kronk style" of boxing and developing over 50 world champions, the gym gained worldwide fame in the 1980s but eventually closed in 2006 after Steward's death.
