Описание: The Bicester Heritage event, Bicester Flywheel, is a much attended airshow and car show held on the former RAF Bicester aerodrome.

This airfield was first established in 1916, and was developed as a bomber station in the 1920s. It is the base where the Handley Page Halifax prototype first flew from. Several squadrons and units were based at Bicester over the years, but the RAF withdrew in the 1970s. Currently it has an exciting future, diversifying with focus on historic motoring and aviation.

Two HAE engines were invited to display at Flywheel. An Alvis Leonides radial and a Rolls-Royce Merlin.

Operated by Paul Whitwood and David Irwin, both members of the HAE Facebook group.

HAE is a Facebook group of aero engine enthusiasts (see link below). The engine owners can display these engines at public events to inspire an interest in our aero engineering heritage, for visitors young and old.

The Historic Aero Engine is a Facebook group of aero engine enthusiasts from a variety of engineering and technical backgrounds, who share a common interest in researching, restoring, and preserving our aero engine heritage.
