Across Chad’s vast Sahel, nomadic families travel hundreds of kilometers with their herds. This mobility makes it harder for health workers to reach every child, but it’s also where the fight against polio must be won. With support from WHO Regional Office for Africa (WHOAFRO) and partners, vaccinators are going the extra mile to track, locate, and immunize children on the move.
This video highlights the determination of health workers and the vital role of WHO AFRO in coordinating campaigns, strengthening cross-border surveillance, and ensuring that no child—wherever they live—is left behind in the journey to a polio-free Africa.
