Musa Dagh (“Moses Mountain”) is a historic Armenian village in modern-day Turkey, renowned for its heroic resistance during the Armenian Genocide of 1915. The story of this resistance was immortalized in Franz Werfel’s novel The Forty Days of Musa Dagh, which later inspired generations, including the Jewish fighters of the Warsaw Ghetto.
From Musa Dagh comes the Musa Ler Dabke, a traditional folk dance that expresses communal spirit and cultural pride. While specific movements are part of local tradition, the dance celebrates the resilience, joy, and identity of the Armenian villagers.
