We took the shinkansen from Tokyo to Kanazawa expecting a charming, traditional hidden gem but after spending a day exploring, we had mixed feelings.
In this video, we share our honest thoughts after visiting Kanazawa, Japan. We walk through the Higashi Chaya District, explore Kanazawa Castle, try hanami dango, visit a couple of cafés, and talk about whether it’s actually worth adding to your Japan itinerary.
Kanazawa is known for its preserved wooden streets, Edo-period architecture and slower pace but is it worth the 2.5-hour trip from Tokyo?
