In July 2020, HBO Max renewed the series for a second season. In June 2021, HBO Max renewed the series for a third season.

DaShaun Wesley plays the role of the Master of Ceremonies, abbreviated MC or emcee, and more specifically the host of Legendary. The main panel of judges includes Jameela Jamil, Law Roach, Leiomy Maldonado, and Keke Palmer. Megan Thee Stallion was previously a main panel judge on the first and second seasons of Legendary.
