Описание: Connecticut is home to a rich network of rivers, lakes, and coastal waters that support drinking water, recreation, wildlife, and the state’s economy. However, these vital resources face growing threats from nutrient pollution, impacting water quality and public health. To address these challenges, the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) has updated its Watershed Model using the HSPF platform. This modern, science-based tool simulates water quality and hydrologic processes to guide decision-making. With the addition of the user-friendly Scenario Applications Manager (SAM), stakeholders can now assess the impact of land use changes, weather shifts, and pollution controls, and co-create practical solutions tailored to their local watersheds. Through community collaboration and informed planning, the updated model empowers Connecticut to protect and restore its waters for future generations.
