The golf swing only works when the inside and the outside of the body are properly coordinated.
In this video, I explain why distance and consistency depend on how well these parts move together—not independently.
Understanding the Real Rotation
On the backswing:
The clubhead rotates roughly 200°
The lead arm rotates about 120°
The rib cage (swing center) rotates around 90°
The pelvis rotates about 45°
Because of this, the outside components must move faster than the inside to reach the top correctly. If they don’t, the swing loses structure, speed, and balance.
What Happens on the Downswing
Coming down, the sequence reverses:
The slower-moving center (rib cage) must lead
The faster-moving arms and club must stay in front of the body
When this coordination breaks down, golfers get stuck, flip the club, swing over the top, or lose speed.
Why This Matters
✔️ Better sequencing
✔️ Increased ball speed
✔️ More consistent contact
✔️ Improved face control
✔️ A swing that repeats under pressure
Learning to coordinate the inside and the outside correctly allows the swing to function naturally—producing both distance and consistency without forcing positions.
