Heralded as “The father of contemporary a cappella” by Entertainment Weekly, Deke Sharon has his a cappella fingers in many pies, arranging (Broadway’s In Transit), music directing movies (Pitch Perfect 1, 2 & 3), television (The Sing Off, Peacock’s Bumper in Berlin, Disney+ Best in Snow, BBC’s Pitch Battle), directing professional groups (Disney’s DCappella), performing (annual TotalVocal at Carnegie Hall), coaching (Lifetime’s Pitch Slapped) producing albums (Straight No Chaser), tours (A Cappella Live) and events (Camp A Cappella), and publishing thousands of arrangements. All while teaching and promoting a cappella worldwide. Middle school and high school choir students will join the JU choirs for a two-day festival with a final concert open to the public. Part of CONNECT! a choral season of collaboration.
