Nigeria's upstream oil regulator has set a bold target to significantly increase oil and condensate production by 2026. The plan aims to reach an annual output of 2.6 million barrels per day (bpd) within the next three years, marking a substantial leap from the current levels of around 1.6 million bpd.
Also, the country's gas industry is poised for a pivotal year in 2024. Growing awareness of its environmental benefits, coupled with government initiatives to promote its use in power generation, industries, and even households, could see demand skyrocket.
However, domestic challenges and the global energy landscape present huge risks and impediments to whatever plan or projection the government has outlined for the year 2024.
