This video is all about our visit to Custer State Park and includes our review of Big Pine Campground in Custer South Dakota. Custer State Park is a great place to see Bison and maybe even get caught in a Bison traffic jam. We did. The hike around the lake is beautiful as is Needles highway. Unfortunately due to the width of the dually we couldn’t do all the tunnels on Needles. We just didn’t want to take the chance.
Big Pine Campground is a nice no frills place just outside of Custer SD. We had a great stay there and had daily visits by the local deer. The campsites are perfect for setting up your hammocks. We were able to hike some of the National Forest nearby and used this campground as our operating base to see sights in the local area like Mount Rushmore and the town of Deadwood.
