What this documentary shows (Okhaldhunga, Rural Nepal)

This short film follows farming families in Taluwa, Thulachhap & Bhadaure (Okhaldhunga) working with Volunteers Initiative Nepal (ViN) to build practical household water systems that improve daily life and strengthen climate resilience.

When water is closer to home, families can:
• drink safer water and improve hygiene practices (WASH)
• reduce hours spent collecting water
• grow vegetables at home for better nutrition and food security
• reuse water responsibly through greywater collection for gardens
• strengthen long-term livelihoods through permaculture-based food production

What one complete household package includes (per family)
✅ 4,000L household water tank (reliable water storage)
✅ Tap system (daily household use)
✅ 500L greywater collection tank (safer garden reuse)
✅ Household water filter (safer drinking water)
✅ Permaculture/kitchen garden support (training + mentoring for food production)
This is a community-led, practical approach to water access, safe drinking water, nutrition, and sustainable livelihoods in rural Nepal.
