what is light microscope?
the scientific instrument used to study small objects in the presence of light which cannot be seen with naked eyes is called light microscope.

light microscopy:
the process of using light microscope is called light microscopy.

types of light microscope:
there are two basic types of microscope. the one is simple microscope and the other is compound microscope.
simple microscope:
the type of microscope that is having single lens is called simple microscope.
compound microscope:
the type of microscope that is having several lenses ( at least two ) is called compound microscope.

how image is magnified by light microscope?
light take image from the sample and pass from objective lens which is magnified. this magnified image then pass from the eyepiece lens which further magnifies the image. in this way magnification occurs.

magnification power of light microscope is 1500x. resolution of light microscope is 0.2 micrometer.
