Peacemaker: Every New DC Character We Could See

The genius behind Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy and DC’s The Suicide Squad is now reteaming with Warner Bros. and HBO Max for a brand new series focusing on John Cena’s superhero character. Knowing Gunn, this is going to be a brutal and hilarious time. Imagine a Deadpool TV show with a patriotic antihero and you get what this show will be about. It will probably also have a lot of heart and a deep message about becoming less of an extreme person. While he stole scenes from Idris Elba’s Bloodsport and Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn last time around, this time there are plenty of new characters who are going to do the same to him. These include many other characters from the DC pantheon. Some, like Vigilante, seem to be reimagined takes on classic comics that point out how ridiculous they’d be in real life. Others, like Judo Master seem to be a callback to Peacemaker’s Charlton Comics origin. This could lead to characters like Captain Atom and The Question making an appearance. We haven’t seen that since Watchmen showed us Doctor Manhattan, Rorschach and The Comedian put characters based on all three in a room together. Others seem to be new characters who have risen from the primordial ooze of James Gunn’s twisted imagination. His eagle sidekick may be the best addition to the DC multiverse.
