ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Ajahn Khunpon is a Thai meditation master in the Thai forest lineage of Luangpor Viriyang. He is based at the historic Wat Phanan Choeng monastery in Ayutthaya and teaches meditation to both monks and laypeople at his monastery and at Mahachula Buddhist University. As a spiritual guide for the Sangha community in Ayutthaya state, he guides practitioners in the two-fold practice of stillness (Samatha) and insight (Vipassana), drawing on his Thai Forest training and the Mahāsi Vipassanā tradition. His training includes deep study of the Pāli language and Buddhist scriptures, as well as a PhD in Western philosophy, giving him the ability to connect traditional Dhamma with modern perspectives.
Before becoming a monk, Ajahn was a talented musician in his younger years. This unique journey-from the concert stage to the forest monastery- informs his teaching style, which combines discipline with a gentle, joyful spirit. Whether you are an experienced practitioner or new to meditation, Ajahn shares practical ways to develop mindfulness, cultivate inner peace and live with wisdom in everyday life.
