Описание: If you are looking to plant hardy, disease resistant fruit trees that are not readily available in garden centres, you may find yourself ordering young "whips" from specialist nurseries. These are year-old fruit trees that have been grafted to fuse tough root stock such as Malling 26, with the fruit wood of the fruit bearing tree such as Liberty, or Freedom. Whips are planted "bare root" in early spring. They're very small and look like a simple twig with roots. But whips grow quickly and adapt well to their new conditions while larger, potted trees may take longer to establish. In this video, Susan Poizner of fruit tree education company Orchard People, shows you what a whip looks like. Visit the website at www.communityorchard.ca and www.orchardpeople.com.
