NYCHA provided a tour of the new garbage compactors to Washington Houses residents.
New School Construction at East Harlem Development coincides with Garbage Improvements for Washington Houses.
The construction of the DREAM Charter School along with new units of affordable housing at New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) development Washington Houses has created the need for a new site for garbage compactors at the East Harlem complex. After careful analysis, NYCHA determined that the current barbecue area on the south side of E 102nd St. between 230 E 102nd & 220 E 102nd St. would be the best location.
In order to address any concerns about standard construction zone issues like rodents, insects, noise pollution, and air quality
NYCHA officials led a group of Washington Houses residents on a tour of Brooklyn's Linden Houses, which currently has compactors at the development.
