Nepal Electricity Authority has converted seven old grid substations in Kavre including the valley into a fully automated system and brought them into operation. As part of the process of automating 13 substations, seven have been automated in the first phase. The substations that have been automated are now being operated and controlled from the control room. Now, there is no need to go to the field to operate and monitor the substation. We visited the control room and talked to Abhay Neupane, Head of the Substation Automation Project.
