70’s Traynor YBA-1A, modded in the Jose style, with cascading gain stages and zener clipping, with master volume into the EQ section. There are also minor mods to the power section (mainly higher negative feedback and larger grid resistors on the phase inverter).
The amp settings are as shown in the picture. Preamp 10, Master 7, Treble 4, Bass 6, Mids 10, Presence 10. The amp was fed to a Fryette Power Station into a detuned port cabinet fitted with Peavey Sheffield 1230 speakers. The cabinet was miked with an SM57 slightly off axis and an AKG C414 XLS capturing the port sound.
In the DAW, 2dB was added to 2kHz, and both tracks had a high pass filter at 80 Hz.
