If you have not enough headroom space, you will have a lot of trouble at the starting point of the mix. That's why level control is very important for every producer before starting the mix. You can easily overcome this problem by adding pink noise to any channel without disturbing the level balance among the tracks.
1. Add an audio track and open signal generator.
2. Select pink noise and set the level as -30 dB.
3. Turn off the faders of all channels.
4. Choose any channel whatever you want and solo it with the pink noise.
5. Turn up the volume until you hear the sound clearly. Do this for each channel.
At the end, the sound level on Master channel is on average and you did not disturb the level balance among the tracks.
Now you can start the mix easily :)
