In November 2021, artist, curator and educator Lydia Beilby led a workshop in direct animation using 16mm analogue film strips. The group connected with the roots of film production and exhibition as an embodied practice, by playing and engaging with the 16mm film as a tactile, physical medium, drawing, painting, etching and collaging directly onto the film strip itself.
This live performance was presented at the Dominion Cinema on June 13th, 2022 by Lydia Beilby projecting the original 16mm film in the auditorium. whilst musician, composer and sound designer Tom Lyne performed his specially commissioned soundtrack for the film.
