This video showcases student-built robotic hands developed in the Bachelor’s program in Humanoid Robotics at the BERLINER HOCHSCHULE FÜR TECHNIK. Students receive a set of standard actuators and a software framework that enables hand-in-hand teleoperation: controlling a robotic hand directly through the movements of a human hand. Based on these fixed components, they design, prototype, and fabricate their own robotic hands using 3D printing and custom polyurethane casting in self-made molds.
The video documents how these student-designed grippers successfully perform key horticultural tasks: harvesting individual fruits, removing side shoots (Ausgeizen), and selective defoliation of tomato plants. The focus lies on functional manipulation in realistic greenhouse scenarios and on demonstrating how teleoperated soft-mechanical designs can support agricultural workflows.
