In this episode we have a look at the language used in Chinese film, specifically at the importance dialect can have in film. We also explore how film with dialect can teach us about the role language has in Chinese society.
We could have gone so much deeper on this subject and really picked apart the political importance and history of dialect and languages in China but unfortunately 10 minutes is just not enough time to dig into this subject properly.
