ITV London News: Post-Grenfell product testing and certification still privatised (26/02/25)

Описание: The government has announced that it accepts all 58 recommendations of the Grenfell Tower Inquiry - either in full or "in principle" with caveats. But the new construction super-regulator will not test or certify the safety of construction products, which will still be done by privatised companies - and this goes against the first recommendation of the Inquiry. This does not seem to be putting people before profit.

Grenfell bereaved and survivors want to ensure this kind of tragedy cannot happen to anyone else, and as Inquest's Aniesha Obuobie explains, there needs to be an independent oversight mechanism tracking action on Inquiry recommendations.

Nearly 8 years after the Grenfell fire, residents living in thousands of flats with similarly dangerous materials on their buildings simply want to be able to go to bed at night and know they are safe in their own home.
