Heureux oiseaux, l'amour qui vous anime
Par vos aimables sons s'exprime,
Et les rend encor plus charmans.
Nightingales you sing of the sweetness of the
spring,
the tender love that animates you,
expresses itself in your sweet sounds,
and makes them even more charming.
My heart, alas, has also fallen victim
of that God whom you celebrate in song.

to give expression to the fires of passion I am feeling.
