The signal structures are Positive Train Control (PTC) / signal mast foundations for railway signals.
These are cantilever-style signal masts (still under installation, as no signal heads are mounted yet). Once completed, they will hold railroad color light signals or possibly LED-type aspect signals that display red, yellow, or green aspects to train engineers.
Key Details:
The tall vertical ladders and platforms are for maintenance crews to access the signal heads.
The base has electrical cabinets (signal control equipment).
These typically get fitted with tri-light signals (classic round lights stacked vertically) or modular LED signals.
They are part of the interlocking system at a crossing or junction, controlling train movements safely.
So, in railroad terminology, these would be called:
➡️ “Railroad color light signals (mast-mounted)”
➡️ or more generally, “railroad signal masts”.
