In this video I'll be taking a look at the Sterling by Music Man Valentine. The Valentine is the signature model from Maroon 5 guitarist, James Valentine.

This guitar is a Swamp Ash body with a roasted maple neck and fretboard. It sits at under £1000 in the UK and gives you a lot of bang for your buck. This is a great, versatile guitar for anyone looking for a workhorse.

While it looks like it has a pair of humbuckers, the bridge pickup is actually a single coil, T-Style pickup in a humbucker case. The guitar has a 3 way switch and sounds a lot like a Tele with a neck humbucker fitted.

The volume pot also doubles as a push-push boost which gives you an additional 12dB. Perfect for lead breaks or pushing your amp that extra mile.

In the video I am plugged into the Blackstar Studio 10 6L6 which is mic'd with a Lewitt Audio LCT440. I am using a J Rockett Lenny as a clean boost and also the Analogman King of Tone for drive tones. The reverb in the video comes from the Surfy Industries Surfybear Classic.
