Join me on a 'Catch and Cook' (finally) on Lake Apopka. My fishing skills are far from great, so I put myself where the fish are, to explore a new area and give my growing skills another try at catching something edible :).
Lake Apopka is Florida's fourth largest lake covering an area of over 30,000 acres. It was plagued by runoff from farms for decades and has only just recently recovered (albeit not fully) to near normal levels of phosphorus, and the fish population is booming. Even me, someone who struggles to catch a fish was able to catch a near 17" bass! It was a pretty successful day in the blistering heat and driving winds of a passing storm to capture the beauty of this lake and to see so much wildlife to share with you. Getting a chance to use my Falcon Sail was great too and closing the trip out with a fresh cooked fish was just the icing on the cake. I hope you enjoy the video
